Dear Patient,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment.

We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
  • Please call our office 770-407-8700 from your vehicle when you arrive to check in with our staff
  • If you can, please wear a mask into the building until we get you settled into a treatment room.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • If you are 65 years or older or have chronic illnesses that make you more susceptible to being sick, we need to postpone any routine dental work at this time.
  • Be aware that no one except patients will be allowed into the building unless they are 7 years or younger, elderly who need assistance or special needs that need assistance, in which one parent or care taker can accompany the patient into the treatment area. Parents and caretakers must wear a mask into the building. All other persons with you must remain in the vehicle. (We do not have disposable masks available to patients or caretakers because of the shortage of protective equipment)
  • We will check your temperature at your vehicle and do a COVID-19 screening. If you are running a temp of over 100.4 or have any symptoms of illness, we will have to reschedule you, so you may want to check your temp at home before coming to your appointment.
  • Please thoroughly brush your teeth before you come to your appointment.
  • Be aware that there may be a $5 Co-pay to cover PPE and sanitary products for your protection.

Why is there a $5.00 PPE co-pay?

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice.

There is currently a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment, PPE.
